My daughter did Connection to Creativity’s Novel & Novella Adventure Kit in the midst of summer vacation. At a time when she’d been away from structured academic activities, the Novel & Novella Adventure Kit was a welcome resource for her to revisit letter writing, word formation, reading comprehension, direction-following, sustained attention and more in creative and new ways prior to her return to school. Her favorite activity was “Reading On The Go” which involved decoding messages. She said she felt like a detective! She also loved the stickers and pencil included. “It was amazing to see all the smiling faces as D.J Steinberg read "Here Comes Thanksgiving". The book came to life as everyone was dressed in Turkey hats and the Mime acted out all the scenes as the author read to our little ones. They played music and danced. The best part was they had a chance to stuff a bear, which was a character in the story, name it and take it home. The Adoption ceremony made the whole experience official. I can't wait until the Cuddle and Read program comes back to our school.
