Connection to Creativity is a nonprofit committed to improving the literacy rate of children (6 — 12 years old) through reading initiatives. We understand that a child’s reading skills are fundamental to ensure their success throughout matriculation. Also, reading develops a child’s imagination and opens doors to all kinds of new worlds for them. Therefore, Connection to Creativity partners with various interest groups to provide reading programs that encourages children to read. Since 2016, we have hosted over fifty (50) events and successfully engaged over a thousand children.
This summer is no different, on Saturday August 19, 2017, Connect to Creative, Youth by Youth and Brighter Bahamas Foundation are hosts of The Battle of the Books (BOTB) Competition. Students (grades 1 – 6) select a book to read during the summer and then interpret the selected book in poetry, singing or drawing.
